Happy FriYAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYY friends! I hear that you love my posts so much that you want more of them! Well, let’s talk about an often overlooked part of your copier: The multipurpose tray!
Ahh yes, the Multipurpose tray, the swiss army knife of your copier. Unlike the paper trays, you can put darn near anything in this tray. From labels to cardstock, there is virtually no limit to what you can do with this neat little tray.
The multipurpose tray is also great for paper sizes that you don’t often print to regularly, saving you the hassle of taking up a tray for a size that you commonly use. The most common use of this neat little tray, is labels and envelopes. Unlike the normal paper trays in your machine, the multipurpose tray has a direct path into the paper feed system on your copier, making it far less likely to jam on specialty types of paper.
Just like in your paper trays, you want to make sure that the guides on the MP tray are set tight to the paper, and that the paper is all the way in. Your machine can detect the presence of paper in this tray, and even determine the size. You will have to set the type, however. This is pretty normal of your standard trays too. If you are using large size paper, such as Ledger, or 12×18, you will want to extend the tray to not only have the machine properly detect the size, but also to prevent the paper from hanging out of the tray, which can cause a misfeed.
Did you know that there are also banner attachments for your MP tray? Yes! You can also print small banners from your MP tray. CopyLady does carry these attachments for your machine!
Your MP tray can be found in one of three places:
* On the left or right side of your machine: On CopyLady copiers, you will find this on the right, but some are on the left.
* At the top rear of the machine: Some desktops have it back here.
* In the front of your machine: Many desktop laser printers and copiers will have the MP tray right in the front, behind a door. Pull this small door open to reveal the tray.
Give a shoutout to the often overlooked, yet most versatile part of your copier, the multipurpose tray! The most universal part of your copier!
