When Cynthia finished her formal schooling, she had already discovered her passion and aptitude for the digital world. As a result, like a fish swimming upstream, she dove, head-first, into what, at the time, was strictly a man’s world. To be successful, she knew she would have to work twice as hard as her male counterparts. So, she took every course she could find to help her excel in the complicated world of office technology. Along the way, she accumulated numerous certifications providing her with the ability to develop the innovative systems and techniques she and her company are known for.
Exon Business Systems: Cynthia started her career over 20 years ago in this company’s headquarters office in Pennsylvania as a computer troubleshooter, resolving issues for their “Enterprise” clients across America. Within a year she found herself promoted to their Los Angeles office where she led computer training classes for their customers.
Sony Office Systems: She taught distributors in the western states and Alaska how to train dealers and their customers to use their new micro computers.
Minolta Business Systems: Cynthia helped this company develop their first micro computer sales force in their LA branch. She, then went on to become the company’s top rep nationally.
Canon: Still in LA, Cynthia helped develop and sell multi-functional office equipment for Canon. She was their top rep for five years, nationwide.
Sharp Business Systems: Moving to Florida to be closer to her family, she became this company’s liaison to their dealers and distributors throughout the southeast United States.
2002, CopyLady, Inc. was born: Realizing the direction the entire office equipment industry was going, and recognizing the fact that none of the dealerships in the area seemed to be responding to this changing environment, Cynthia decided the time was right to “do it her way.” Now, her company is 15 years old and seems to be growing every day. It is hard to keep track, because client needs keep changing, but she estimates that CopyLady provides employment for 25 to 30 people between full-timers, part-timers and contracted partners such as her remote IT partners in Pennsylvania and her credit approval partners in North Carolina. At least half of these employees are women.
Cynthia attributes the success of her company to her dedication to her basic principals. Integrity and a sincere desire to provide the knowledge, equipment and support necessary to keep her clients’ businesses humming. She knows how difficult it can be to navigate the various potholes one might encounter with today’s complicated maze of integrated digital systems. That’s one of the reasons she provides 2-hour turnaround on service (expediency apparently no other dealer can or is willing to provide), and complete IT support for clients who request it.
As a proven expert in Office Technology she has helped companies around Southwest Florida take charge of their office technology needs, including companies like Broadway Palm, Corbin Henderson, Florida Weekly and T3, to mention a few. In addition, CopyLady, Inc. is the officially approved and recommended copier company of the Lee County Bar Association.
Cynthia Duff’s Volunteer Participation: In addition to her extensive technology experience, Cynthia is a proven leader and volunteer currently serving as Vice President on the board of Abuse Counseling and Treatment, Inc. She has served on the board of directors for the Greater Fort Myers Chamber of Commerce, The Southwest Florida Symphony, and Dr. Piper Center. In addition, she supports the Rotary Club of Fort Myers (named Rotarian of the Year for 2000), Southwest Florida Community Foundation, Childcare of Southwest Florida, Honorable Order of Kentucky Colonels, The Salvation Army, Quality Life Center and countless other organizations Southwest Florida.
Dan’s extensive Communications, Operations and Business background allows him to effectively direct all aspects of CopyLady’s day-to-day operations. His expertise in choosing the newest in digital equipment provides CopyLady with the best technology on the market to offer businesses all over Southwest Florida. Always up-to-date with not only the latest office equipment from the best major brand manufacturers, he also carefully chooses quality nationwide vendors for supplies for operating state-of-the-art CopyLady equipment.
Dan makes sure our customers have exactly what they need at their disposal to operate their business in the most effective manner – from their office equipment to supplies to our staff providing the ultimate best in efficient and effective service. His technical knowledge is an asset both to our clients and our service specialists who provide technical services to our highly-valued clients.
Dan graduated from Florida State University with a major in Business Psychology and a minor in Communications. A former Board of Director for the Rotary Club of Ft. Myers, he continues to be involved in a number of Southwest Florida organizations, including the Greater Fort Myers Chamber of Commerce, North Fort Myers Chamber of Commerce, as well as many local events as a volunteer.
Marcy has been proudly serving as Director of Administration here at CopyLady since September of 2015. Marcy brings a multitude of skills to our team including over twenty years of experience in sales and finance. Her background in human resources management makes her a perfect fit for her role on the CopyLady team. Since joining us at CopyLady, Marcy has taken charge of all of our office management needs and keeps our internal staff on point on a daily basis. It is safe to say that Marcy is a strong asset to our CopyLady team.
Marcy is a native of Massachusetts who has recently relocated to Fort Myers from Seattle. She and her husband have enjoyed 23 wonderful years of marriage and are the proud parents of a wonderful teenage daughter.
